What Is the VitalSleep?

The VitalSleep is a stop snoring mandibular advancement device that is said to have helped over 200,000 people overcome their snoring problems. It is a rather unique product because, in addition to being a regular mandibular advancement device, it is also adjustable—which adds some customizability to its otherwise ‘traditional’ design.

The fact that it is adjustable is actually a key feature to this product. Usually, adjustable mouthpieces are quite expensive. But VitalSleep is, in the grand scheme of things, a relatively inexpensive device.

But is the VitalSleep a good product? Will it work? And maybe most importantly… is it worth the cost?

These were the questions that we set out to answer in reviewing the VitalSleep. There are literally hundreds of stop snoring products on the market, and nowadays, it can be difficult to know exactly what is worth buying what is not.

And part of the reason that we write these reviews is to help our readers in their journey to figure all of this out.

Here is what you need to know.

What Does VitalSleep Claim to Do?

Basically, the VitalSleep claims to treat snoring. In fact, a tagline on the site says this about the product.

“Eliminate Annoying and Unhealthy Snoring The First Night.”

In addition to this, the VitalSleep also comes in two sizes (one for men and one for women), can be custom-molded using boil-and-bite technology, and can even be adjusted using the on-board adjustment mechanism.

VitalSleep technology

So the VitalSleep actually has a lot to offer in comparison to other simpler devices.

How to Use VitalSleep

To use the VitalSleep, you will first need to decide which size will be right for you. There are two basic sizes… a larger size, designed for men, and a smaller size, designed for women. Once you have chosen the appropriate device, you will then need to custom-mold the mouthpiece to fit your teeth. This is pretty easy and can be done by following the instructions included in the packaging.

And then, you will need to find the right level of jaw advancement by setting the adjustable controls on the device itself. Once you have done this, you will be ready to insert the device and go to sleep.

How to use VitalSleep

Keep in mind that you will need to use the product all night in order for it to work. MADs only help you if you keep them in your mouth for the entire night.

Clinical Background & Certificates

We were not able to find much information about clinical tests, leading us to believe that this product has probably not been involved in any. But, it is FDA cleared, and is reported to have helped over 200,000 people to overcome their snoring problems.

It is also said to be made from FDA approved materials.

Being FDA approved is definitely an upside to this product. It does not necessarily guarantee that it is going to work any better than a device that does not have FDA clearance, but it does give us a little bit of extra, added insurance.

Who Is VitalSleep For?

VitalSleep is mostly designed for…

  • People with a regular snoring problem
  • People with at least most of their original teeth
  • People who like to sleep with their mouth open (the devices opens a bit to allow for mouth breathing if need be)
  • People who like to sleep with their mouth closed
  • People who can get a prescription to use it from their doctor or physician

Who May Not Benefit From VitalSleep?

People who may not benefit from VitalSleep are people who…

  • Wear braces or retainers
  • Have a fairly drastic overbite
  • Are suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, as people who suffer from OSA should ask their doctor about treatment options. It is possible that VitalSleep could be used to treat OSA, but it is really only intended to treat snoring.

More About the Company Behind the Brand

The VitalSleep device is manufactured by a company called ‘The Snore Reliever Company, LLC.’

They have been in business for over 7 years, and ‘strive to enhance the quality of life for snorers and their loved ones by offering effective, accessible snoring solutions.’

All that the website really says in regard to the materials used is that all components are FDA approved, and that they are BPA and Latex free.

VitalSleep truly excels in this category. First of all, they offer a 60 day money back guarantee, which means that if you don’t like the product, for any reason, within the first 60 days, that you can return it for a full refund.

But even if this does not help to make you feel ‘safe and secure’ in your purchase, they also offer a 365 night unconditional product warranty. This means that if the device breaks down due to defects in materials or workmanship within the first year of purchase, you can still be protected.

This is certainly an awesome feature that adds a lot of value to the VitalSleep.

Awards & Media Background

As far as we can tell, this device has not won any awards. It would also seem that the majority of ‘media attention’ that it has gotten has been through positive online reviews. It has, by all accounts, gotten some pretty decent attention on that front.

Pricing & Checkout Security

You can buy one of these devices for $59.95, or 2 for $99.95. As far as competitive pricing goes, this device actually does pretty well. We have seen a couple of devices that are cheaper, but VitalSleep is certainly a contender for affordable mandibular advancement devices.

And as far as a secure checkout goes, the VitalSleep website seems to utilize Norton for their checkout service needs. We have experience with this type of checkout, and have never found any reason to see it as anything but safe and secure.

We would definitely feel safe checking out on this website.

Shipping Costs to New Zealand

As far as shipping costs go, VitalSleep ships to most international countries for a flat rate of $7.95. If you do order your device to be shipped to New Zealand, you can expect to receive the product within 6 to 10 business days.

We must also say that, as far as international shipping charges go, this is a pretty sweet deal.

Any Signs That Vitalsleep Can Cause Side Effects?

We didn’t see any reference to any specific negative side effects listed on the main product website. With that being said, we also know that a lot of devices like this can tend to present some of the same negative side effects—including minor inconveniences like drooling during sleep, mild soreness, and mild discomfort.

We are not sure how many customers end up experiencing any side effects with the VitalSleep, but we can say that for the vast majority of MAD devices on the market, any side effects tend to be minor and to go away when you start to get more used to them.

There is a bit of a learning curve to getting used to mandibular advancement devices. But once you wear them for a week or two, these side effects tend to become much less noticeable. And of course, if they never end up going away, you can always make use of the money back guarantee (especially in VitalSleep’s case) to just return the product and get your money back.

That is mostly why we really love the idea of a product that comes with a money back guarantee.

Summary of Our Findings

In summary, we are pleased to admit that it was difficult to find things about this product that we didn’t like.

It is moldable, customizable, made from FDA cleared materials, and is also FDA cleared itself. It is rated as a Class 2 Anti-snoring device, is affordable, comes with a 60 day money back guarantee, and even comes with a 1 year warranty as well.

There are really so many good things about this device that it is difficult to list them all without getting a bit wordy. And what really impressed us about it was that it sells for a pretty inexpensive price.

VitalSleep mouthpiece

We also emailed customer service with some questions, just to see how their response time was—and they responded in under two hours, which is pretty fast. They also seemed polite and ‘on-top-of-it,’ so that is an upside as well.

Of course, there were a few downsides. In researching negative reviews, we heard some stories about people having problems with the VitalSleep falling out of their mouths during the course of the night—but this seems to be pretty uncommon. Far more often, people report positive experiences with it.

If you are in the market for a stop snoring mandibular advancement device that pretty much comes with the same features as a premium device, but at just over half the usual price, then the VitalSleep is most certainly a mouthpiece that you may want to take a look at.

And if it doesn’t end up working out, the 60 day money back guarantee can save you a bunch of trouble. So that’s awesome as well.

  • The VitalSleep is FDA cleared
  • It is inexpensive
  • It comes with a 60 day money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty
  • It is moldable and adjustable
  • It seems to work well for the majority of people who use it
  • Customer service seems helpful and responsive

  • As far as we can tell, there is not really any ‘clinical trial’ data for this device
  • Shipping is a tad-bit on the expensive side—but really, in the grand scheme of things, it is not that expensive when you consider the fact that New Zealand is international shipping
  • Online, some people have complained that the device can fall out of the mouth during use. So while this seems uncommon, it does seem like it could be an issue for some people.

Summary: If you are looking for a trustworthy mouthpiece that you can customize and don’t mind keeping in your mouth for the entire night, then you won’t find much better option in New Zealand than this.
